Online aplikace pro fixaci učiva prostřednictvím kvízů
Marozau, Ivan
Ivan Marozau. Online application for fixing learning through quizzes. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2024. This bachelor's thesis is dedicated to the development of an application to enhance learning through quizzes. In the initial stage, an analysis of the problematics was conducted, along with a review of existing applications that could address the identified issues. Subsequently, an exploration of existing technologies for creating web applications took place. The final part of the work was devoted to creating a custom application based on the analyses. The project was implemented using the SpringBoot technology with the utilization of WebSocket for communication between the client and the server. Additionally, one of the outcomes was the creation of a user interface.
Drawings as a tool for investigating lower-secondary students' knowledge of cell structure
VLČKOVÁ, Barbora
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the use of drawing as a tool to assess students' knowledge of cell structure. The aim of the study is to examine how drawing can serve as a means of gathering information about students' knowledge and to evaluate the level of understanding of cell biology among 6th-grade students. The research involved 41 participants from two elementary schools. A questionnaire with three parts was used to collect data from the participants. The first part of the questionnaire inquired about basic personal information and the participants' interest in drawing. The second part consisted of open-ended and closed-ended questions to assess knowledge related to cells. In the final part, the participants were given space to draw and describe organelles of animal and plant cells. The questionnaire was administered to the participants twice. In the first administration, they were asked to demonstrate their knowledge without any preparation. During the second visit to the schools, the participants were provided with an educational text about cells, accompanied by illustrations of individual cells, to quickly familiarize them with basic information about cells. They then completed the same quiz again. The results indicate that drawing can be an effective tool for assessing students' knowledge of cell structure. Through drawing, students express and visualize their understanding of cells. The majority of respondents believe that drawing significantly contributes to their learning. The first quiz yielded average results, with at least half of the respondents answering correctly to most questions. Improvement in results was observed in the second quiz. The evaluation of the third part of the questionnaire was based on predetermined criteria. With one exception, each respondent included at least the nucleus in their cell drawing. Most respondents depicted more than one organelle in the cell.
Employing Computer-Assisted Practise of Grammar School Biology Curriculum
Krump, Ondřej ; Mourek, Jan (advisor) ; Stratilová Urválková, Eva (referee)
Growing knowledge in the field of cognitive science can significantly improve the way we learn. Several methods and principles are being repeatedly confirmed by numerous studies as effective for learning. They include spaced repetition, test-enhanced learning, and desirable difficulty principle. With the continual spreading of ICT technologies, diverse software is being developed as well, some of which more and some of which less successfully employs the methods and principles outlined. Memrise, Purpose Games and Drill and Skill, web platforms which are examined in this thesis, belong to this software family. In the first phase, i conducted several interviews with teachers who were using Drill and Skill as part of their science teaching at elementary schools and a junior grammar school (all of them were teaching children approx. 11-15 years old). After this, i worked with a class from a grammar school (age around 16). i made several groups of educational games to help the students practice the topics studied in their biology lessons. Each group of games was reviewed during a group interview. Recordings from these interviews as well as from the interviews with the teachers were transcribed and these transcripts underwent qualitative analysis, which is an important part of the thesis. Drawing on all...
Table game of questions and answers as a support for teaching the history of art
Poštová, Lucie ; Daniel, Ladislav (advisor) ; Raudenský, Martin (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of board games. It is divided into three parts, the theoretical, practical and didactic part. In the theoretical part, the author describes iconography of board games and playing board games from the Middle Ages to the present time. The use of board games is interpreted on specific works of art in painting, sculpture and crafts. The practical part was focused on the creation of an art history educational board game, which develops knowledge in the form of a quiz with questions and answers. The game was redesigned as a digital / online version and a mobile application. Versions of the game were created in a unified author's design. In the didactic part, the author examines whether the game is a suitable teaching material for teachers, students and a group of respondents from the general public. It also includes a methodology for secondary school teachers on how to deal with play in teaching.
Mobilná aplikácia pre zjednodušenú orientáciu vo vnútorných predpisoch PEF MENDELU
Deďová, Katarína
The goal of this thesis is to design and subsequently implement mobile application for the Android operating system. Its main goal is to open options for students, which ”Faculty of Economics and Management of the Mendel University” offers and also obligations, which student should during their studies fulfil. The theoretical part describes the Android operating system and analysis of similar applications. The practical part of the bachelor thesis deals with the development of mobile application itself in the form of design, implementation and final testing of functionality.

Human Biology teaching portfolio for education subject Biology
HLASOVÁ, Zuzana
The aim of the thesis is to create a teaching portfolio with special attention to the educational content of Human Biology. Instructional manuals are created for teaching natural science at primary school and are focused on selected systems in Biology of the human being, which are: muscle system, breathing system, circulation system, digest system, sensuous system, and a chapter about nourishment. Regarding the present?day School educational programmes the teachers themselves choose the year in which they would teach the educational topics of Biology of the human being. The portfolio is drafted as the methodical aid for teachers and instructional activities for pupils that lead to improvement of teaching methods and better understanding particular terms and relations between the structure and function of human body. The educational portfolio consists of working sheets, practical tasks and tests that help to vary teaching methods and add a lot of matters of interest, physiology experiments and testing to the classical approach to teaching Human Biology.
